Views
Coverage
In order to display the data and show the coverage area, there is a Coverage map, so that we know where that data is available and where we need to work to increase the eco-system presence
The data is processed into various views for you. Below are some views planned for the BIKE™ service, but more may be added later.
- Travel times: (New) Real-time travel times show current congestion on bike paths, while historical data aids in statistical analysis for optimization or assessing improvements.
- Routes: Tracking cyclists from start to finish reveals popular routes and can identify areas or routes avoided by cyclists.
- OD matrices: Origin-Destination matrices, displaying cyclist numbers and travel times between areas, aid in assessing infrastructure needs for targeted improvements.
- Pop-up bicycle paths: During the COVID-19 pandemic, some cities created temporary pop-up bike paths on boulevards typically for cars. Mapping bicycle tracks in the area reveals these paths. Additionally, usage, ingress and egress of temporary routes are provided.
Data
The data that is collected can be used for a variety of specific use cases, which we have split into separate streams:
- Floating Bike Data: segment travel times and speeds
- Bicycle Route Choice: track data on bike choices in the infrastructure
- Bicycle Safety Data: grey area and risk zones detection
- Real Time Arrival Data: arrival time estimates for e.g., intersection green time extension
- Historic Raw Data: privacy-compliant historic data sources for post-processing targeting specific or highly detailed decision support
